The gallery was open on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th June 2006.
All the children, staff and governors had time to look round the dozen boards stacked with Artistic brilliance
The staff had sved some of the best examples of all their art lessons throughout the year
Mrs Doyle and Mrs Rogerson were then faced with the mammouth task of displaying the work and crediting the artists
Each item was given a posh label describing the artist and piece they hd created
This is a huge blanket made by children from the older classes in school. They made it by knitting and crochetting squares and sewing them together - the children had graet fun learning to knit !!
Some of the art work we study is of famous artists - here is a piecebased on a piece by Piccasso
Using wax reist techniques one class created luminous fish
Watercolours are always a favourite - not as easy as it looks !
During Arts Week each class in school created clay tile collages / displays. These, by class three, have the children's initials raised on the surface.
Looking round the gallery was enjoyable
It was good to see the children taking time to look at each piece
